So if you hate those annoying "New Version Availiable" messages.. Like i do. But they are important. This little bash script will be a headache saver.

Before we begin, i archive these versions incase i need to downgrade for some reason. So here we go

# Perform the install?

NEWPLEX=$(wget -q -O- | grep -Eo "(http|https)://[a-zA-Z0-9./?=_-]*"|grep debian|grep amd64)
PLEXVER="$(echo $NEWPLEX|grep -Eo "_([a-z0-9.-]*)_"|sed 's/_//g')"

# Change this to whatever directory you store these deb packages
cd /media/storage/plex/

if [[ ! -e ${NEWPLEXPACKAGE} ]]; then
	wget -q $NEWPLEX
	if [[ ${DOINSTALL} -eq "1" ]]; then
		sudo dpkg -i ${NEWPLEXPACKAGE}
        #rm -rf ${NEWPLEXPACKAGE}

Okay, If you dont want to archive this, uncomment: rm -rf ${NEWPLEXPACKAGE}

Simply type: crontab -e

Add: @daily /home/user/checkplex >/dev/null 2>&1

Save, and that will check everyday for a new version of plex.
